The users
- Users make a reservation via the Internet site or a Call Centre
- For each purchase we assign a unique 18 digit code
- When the user turns up for the event, they only need to present their mobile phone with its code at the Tickxpress kiosk
- Once the DMAT CODE has been validated it is deactivated (if selected)
The DMAT Code
- The DMAT CODE was invented by an English engineer. The code is in matrix format and was designed to be sent by SMS to mobile phones.
- DMAT CODE = Dynamic MATrix CODE
- Our code is completely secure, we are the only ones who can read it
- Today, this code is the only one in the world to function with 99% of mobiles without any prior configuration
- 2 quadrillion combinations (barcodes only have 10 million)
- The Dmat code can be read from damaged and low-contrast screens, and also those fitted with a protective filter
- Can also be read from any paper medium
OTHER SOLUTIONS ON THE MARKET
Barcode:
It was created for reading by traditional scanners which are not designed to read mobile phone screens:
- The default setting for mobile phones is 70% contrast to save the battery
- Most scanners use a laser which is reflected by the mobile phone screen
- Traditional barcodes cannot be read from damaged mobile screens
- Traditional scanners are designed to read off paper and not mobile phone screens
The 2D Code
2D Code:
- 2D codes cannot be sent by MMS or Push WAP, which reduces the number of mobiles able to receive the code by about 50%
- A 2D code received by MMS is too small to be read by a simple webcam
- The background of certain mobile phone brands does not allow the code to be read
- Anybody can create and read a 2D code (open source system = no security)
RFID and NFC
RFID and NFC:
Although very interesting, these technologies are today not at all suitable for individualised access control. Here are the reasons why:
- Problems with standards and norms in different countries
- No interoperability possible between the various future services
- The RFID and NFC have very high installation costs
- These solutions will only come into standard use in about 10 years time
- Fundamentally created to be installed in the product during manufacture (no updates possible)
DMAT CODE reading systems
Tickxpress terminals:
Our terminals, used to validate the DMAT CODE sent by SMS, are fitted with a touch screen that can be personalised for each customer. Bluetooth, WIFI, 3G, Ethernet – they have the full range of current connection options and are suitable for all environments.
Using our patented technology, the code is read from the user’s mobile or a printed coupon. The kiosk can open a gate, locking system or tripod connection, and send out a sound alert or a light signal.
Tickxpress also offers a "box" version which can be adapted to your current fixed access control system.
PDA Reader:
We are currently developing a portable reader for simple access control; a PDA fitted with in-built software will be able to read our DMAT CODE. Also available soon, reading via Smartphones.
Webcam Reader:
Currently under development, anyone with a computer and webcam will be able to use our software to read DMAT CODES from paper or on mobiles.
